Alone

Romans 8:28 – “And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose.”

Genesis 2:18. ‘The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him

In 1990 a new invention came out, the “World Wide Web http://www.”  In 1993 the 1st graphic browser (Mosaic)came out.  Shortly after that AOL and Yahoo  came into being and in 1998 Google  was born.  Why the history lesson?  Because for my life it was an important element of God’s working.  In 1992 I came home from Dayspring camp and my wife came to me and said she was leaving me.  It was a shock and created a lot of stress.  It took a couple of years to recover and become proficient as a single parent and juggling all my other responsibilities.  At that point in time I became lonely.  I had two amazing kids, a job God had called me to and so many other things that were blessings, but something was missing.  In the evenings after kids were in bed I would get on this new dangled www thing and ran across a game that let you play backgammon with people.  The same day another person had been given that game and we met online.  SoonerPat and Mommaofthree began playing backgammon and visiting about life.  Her story was about a broken childhood and a cheating husband who she had left.  I shared my story and over a few months we knew one another deeply as we healed one another.  During that time in my readings I came across Genesis 2:18. ‘The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”  It was like God slapped me across the face and woke me up.  This was about Eve but it was also about Cecelia and Pat.  Even in the brokenness that we were both going through, He was making a helper out of each of us that was not just suitable but amazing.  God’s Word is alive and His miracles continue and He uses, brokenness, hurting people, and even new dangled things like the internet..
