‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬-‭16‬ ‭“These are the things you must insist on and teach. Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Until I arrive, give attention to the public reading of scripture, to exhorting, to teaching. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you through prophecy with the laying on of hands by the council of elders. Put these things into practice, devote yourself to them, so that all may see your progress. Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and your hearers.”

Dayspring camp was a blessing to me for the 20+ years I had the opportunity to serve.  One of the things I loved was each evening prior to worship, while students were in their small groups, the deans, worship leader and preacher for the night would share our hearts and pray for God to move in worship that night.  One night our preacher shared that he felt called to have a special invitation for people being called into full time ministry.  We were excited and prayed about it.  As we finished and head out someone said we better be ready for God to move and we all chuckled and said we were ready.  Well, that night as the call was made the whole place suddenly felt like God had descended.  15-20 students came forward.  Three of us quickly made a plan and took those students aside to visit and pray with them.  Over the next hour I had the privilege and honor to spend time with 8 of these students hearing testimonies and the miraculous trip to this place in their life.  There was holy laughter, tears of joy and repentance and prayers that were led by the Spirit.  After meeting with each of them we decided to all gather the next morning to affirm what had taken place.  The next morning everyone was still flying high and shared their stories with the group.  God is amazing.  Over the years it was a blessing to watch these students become pastors, youth ministers and seminary professors.  We must always be ready to God’s leading and be ready to have our socks blown off sometimes when we are used by him.  Pray for God to keep your eyes open.
